Beth has over 40 years experience in education, including leadership of PLC Perth (1997 – 2015) and as CEO for the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (2016 - 2022). Beth switched from her early career in social work to teaching History and Psychology as well as leading two Boarding Houses in a Tasmanian and Victorian independent school for girls. She remains committed to choice in education for parents, particularly choice of single sex schools. She is a founding member and former Chair of Alliance of Girls’ Schools Australasia. The Alliance is a leading voice for the education and empowerment of girls and young women and advocates for and supports the distinctive work of girls’ schools in their provision of unparalleled opportunities for girls.
Beth currently serves as a Board member of AITSL (Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership). Areas of continued professional interest and initiatives have been the education of indigenous students, International Baccalaureate programs, positive psychology, technology as an educational tool, building sustainable communities and women in leadership.
In 2022 Beth was awarded an Order of Australia (AM) for services to education and youth.
